At this time of year, when it's been a cold damp night; get up early for the sunrise. Mist on the fields, lakes and rivers makes for great photos with a warm glow. The last hour before sunset gives fantastic skies as well. Don't be afraid to increase the saturation of the colours - vivid skies and reflections look great so long as they still look natural.
